Hope, Support, and Community in Inverclyde

Welcome to The Anchor

We are a community-led charity dedicated to providing a safe space for those aged 12 and over across Inverclyde. Whether you are in crisis, feeling overwhelmed, or looking for a sense of belonging, you don’t have to navigate life’s challenges alone.

Our Core Mission

At The Anchor, we believe that every life matters and difficult moments shouldn’t be faced alone. We focus on three key pillars of support:

Prevention & Support

From crisis intervention to helping those “on the edge” find a more positive path before a crisis occurs.

Mental Wellbeing

Peer support groups and social spaces designed to reduce isolation and help you manage daily challenges.

Community Connection

A kind, inclusive space for young people and adults, where lived experience is valued and every voice is heard.

Why "The Anchor"?

We aim to be a steadying force for our neighbours. Our services are built by local people, for local people, ensuring that our support is relevant, accessible, and rooted in the heart of Inverclyde.

"You are more than your struggle. We are here to listen and to hold space"

How We Can Help

Safety Support

A dedicated, no-wait space every Monday (10am – 4pm, no appointment required) for those 18+ needing immediate emotional support in a safe environment.

Community & Belonging

An open door for young people and adults to find connection through social drop-ins and peer support groups.

Youth & Prevention

Mentorship and positive alternatives for young people, providing the support they need to build resilience, discover their potential, and choose a positive path.
